Worry Chair

2021 performance where I "worry" a chair I built from plate steel and suede back and forth until it cannot rock any longer. I am interested in creating relics of emotion through performance. Here, a chair is rendered useless as it becomes a sculpture from the physical manifestation of anxiety.

Worry Chair

Photos of the November 2021 performance where I "worried" a chair I made from steel plate and leather scraps (discards from a local textile factory) until the chair was no longer able to be rocked. I was interested in making an armature that acted as a vessel of strife, that lost its function as a chair when it became an object that connoted a release.
